The Board of Director’s are pleased to announce Stokesdale Parks & Rec is ready to offer our Fall Baseball and Softball Leagues this Fall. Everyone we have spoken to are very excited to get back on the fields! Other organizations have shown interest in also joining and registering with SPR this season. The Great Coaches that volunteer is excited and ready to teach your child the game while keeping them safe and well around others!
Many new guidelines have been put in place to help stop the spread of any illnesses that may be contagious during a game/practice and keeping you and your child safe and well, which you can view the Best Practices Guidelines”, which is attached. These are many of the same guidelines that several other successful leagues and travel baseball/softball tournament companies have already implemented in NC and have followed thoroughly since June 1, 2020. With your help abiding by attached new best practices guidelines, we can have a successful season this fall just like organizations have had this summer.
As well, attached is a new “Return to Play Waiver” for you to review and complete before the first practice. Your son will not be allowed to step on an organized baseball/softball field without the attached Waiver being completed and turned into your coach. Please print the waiver and have it ready for your assigned coach at the first practice.
Registration is open NOW, and will close Friday, August 7th at 6 p.m. If you registered to play in the spring (2020), please do not re-register. Please email Terry Hedenskog for baseball at SPR.President.Hedenskog@gmail.com, Please include players name, age group, and Spring 2020 Head Coach you were assigned. Once I have this information, I will transfer your player to the fall season without having to pay again. If you did not register in the spring for Baseball for the Spring 2020 season and wish to play in the Fall 2020 season for Baseball, please register as you would normally. We have a committee of dedicated coaches and parents that are ready to get this season started. I am honored to announce Zach Lowe will be our new Baseball Director starting this Fall season!
If you plan to play Softball this Fall 2020 season and registered in the Spring to play, please email [email protected] and let her know so she can move your spring registration fee to the fall. If you wish to play softball this season and did not register for the Spring, please register as you would normally. Please register before
August 7th at 6 p.m. to hold your spot. We will also be transitioning the Softball Directors role from Liz Cagno to Mike Isley. More to follow on the great job Liz and Sal Cagno have done over the 7 years they have been involved. They still plan to help with the program and coach were needed. Mike Isley will also do an outstanding job- no doubt.
The week of August 10th you will hear from your assigned coach and practice will also begin the week of the 10th. Both Baseball and Softball will more than likely need to do assessments. We will send an email out soon with date and time for the assessment if necessary.
Dates are tentatively scheduled to begin the first part of September. We plan to end the season around the last week of October with a tournament. Register as soon as you can to keep or get your spot this season.
